How did we start?

We started as a small truck build with big dreams. It was a lightning blue 2017 F150. It took a few years then we dove in. Adding auto climate control was the first big update but we knew we wouldn’t be able to make it through winter without heated seats. So we dug into the wiring.

How long did it take?

We started digging in to the wiring diagrams in June and got a design. Slowly collected all the parts but summer pulled us in different directions. As fall approached and temperatures dropped the push was on. So the design was brought to life and installed in the vehicle. Then came the challenge of programming. It took some tweaks but revision 1 of the programming was ready to roll. Questions and requests started rolling in so back to the programming to refine and write install instructions. By the end of October rolled around it was ready to go.

The expansion

We decided regaining heated seat function was not the end of the road for us. We felt a need to keep chugging along. That lead us to investigating heated and cooled seats in an XLT. We hit the wiring diagrams again and came up with a design, sourced all of the parts, and began our prototyping. By February we had a truck with working heated and cooled seats. The design for 2018-2020 heated and ventilated seats was born from this along with an updated heated seat harness for 2018-2020 F150s.
